The Hyperion Historical Alliance (HHA) is a professional organization dedicated to advancing member-initiated projects related to Disney history. Although it is unaffiliated with The Walt Disney Company, the HHA consists of members with long-standing careers and strong archival, professional, academic, and heritage connections to
Disney.

As an official 501(c)(3) non-profit association, the Hyperion Historical Alliance operates independently to preserve documents, artwork, and other materials related to Disney history. Vetted members with professional interests actively network to identify opportunities for locating and safeguarding materials at risk of being lost to time, neglect, or decay.

From identifying obscure artwork to locating unpublished diaries, autobiographies, or correspondence related to the creative talents who worked with Walt Disney and The Walt Disney Company, the HHA enhances and strengthens the historical record otherwise maintained by the Company. HHA members actively contribute to Disney scholarship through publications, documentaries, and other projects.

One of the ways the HHA accomplishes its mission is through two primary publications that enhance the research database and historical record of Disney history:

HYPERION HISTORICAL ALLIANCE MONOGRAPH SERIES

A single-topic publication that features an in-depth history of one subject, authored by one or two HHA members, and is heavily illustrated with rare photos and artwork, much of which has never been published before.

HYPERION HISTORICAL ALLIANCE ANNUAL

An annual multi-author anthology featuring extensively researched essays by selected HHA members that showcase various topics in Disney history.  

The goal of HHA publications is to ensure historical accuracy while debunking myths and addressing inaccuracies in Disney’s historical record. Both publications are produced in partnership with Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, and are accessible to the general public on Amazon.
